Since its first publication in December 2006, it has established itself as a reference among teachers and researchers in the field of science education in Brazil, becoming an important means of communication for disseminating applied research in teaching and learning situations.

Historical Background

Since its first publication in December 2006, it has established itself as a reference among teachers and researchers in the field of Science Education in Brazil, becoming an important means of communication for applied research in teaching and learning situations. It was conceived and published by the Teaching Group of the Institute of Physics at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), in collaboration with the International Doctoral Program in Science Education (PIDEC), offered by the University of Burgos (UBU), Spain. Currently, it is published by the Teaching Group of the Institute of Physics at the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), Brazil.

Impact

EENCI is published quarterly in electronic format. All papers undergo blind peer review. Articles can be published in Spanish, Portuguese, or English, with corresponding abstracts, titles, and keywords in both the original language and English. Its fundamental purpose is to promote and disseminate experiences and studies that align with the interests of science and mathematics teachers and have an impact on educational practices in formal or informal teaching situations. Furthermore, critical analysis of current work in this field is also encouraged.

Knowledge

One of the goals of the journal is to publish studies related to the teaching and learning of scientific and mathematical content that analyze classroom management, the degree of student engagement in learning, the evaluation of difficulties, and advancements in the application of teaching methodologies. Furthermore, the publication of research work in applied research is encouraged, grounded in theoretical foundations that contribute to advancing the understanding of significant problems related to the learning of science and mathematics.

Opinion

We are always seeking improvements in the journal. To achieve this, we strive to understand the readers' opinions regarding the published works and their impact on everyday teaching practices. Therefore, we encourage readers to send emails with comments, suggestions, or criticisms in order to ensure the quality of the journal.
